SW1

SW1 covers some streets in Knightsbridge as well as the area around Victoria station and St. James Park. The Victoria area is full of budget tourist hotels that can be run-down. Knightsbridge is where Harrods and Harvey Nichols are - as well as other upmarket designer outlets. Hotels in or close to Knightsbridge are indicated in green. The St. James Park area is the area in SW1 that is closest to to Soho - about ten minutes in a cab or a 20-30 minute walk. Hotels nearest to Soho are indicated in red.

SW7

SW7 covers South Kensington (home to the V & A Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum) and some streets in the Earls Court area. If you can't afford a hotel in Knightsbridge, staying in South Kensington is a good alternative. Some of the hotels listed below are within walking distance to Harrods and Harvey Nichols. None are within walking distance to Soho. Traveling to Soho by cab/bus/tube takes about 20 minutes.

SW5 covers the Earls Court area which is about a 20-30 minute journey to Soho by cab/bus/tube. Be careful when booking a budget hotel in this area. There's a reason they are so cheap. Many are run-down.

W2 covers Bayswater and includes the Paddington and Hyde Park areas. The cheaper hotels in the Paddington area tend to be run-down - a bit like the Earls Court hotels. The Hyde Park area is full of tourists. Neither area is within walking distance to Soho although Hyde Park hotels are closer to the West End than the Paddington hotels. Paddington is closer to Notting Hill.
